Smart Guidance in Buying Audiolab 8200CD CD Player

A definitely substantial good quality dac and cd player. Postscript on twenty fourth march 2104after a number of months of use i see no real purpose to adjust my belief. This is a top-quality player and i question that you will find a great deal superior at even a substantially increased charge. I have ultimately got round to checking out the spdif inputs and they operate just as very well as the usb enter. All in all this is a versatile player that will accommodate most of your digital music requirements. I can not fault it and propose it hugely. First assessment:i acquired this cd player simply because my mid 90’s cambridge unit was bodily alternatively than electronically worn out. I was utilizing the cambridge device in mixture with a musical fidelity vdac so that has been changed far too. I have reviewed the vdac separately and this was an excellent ‘player’ for fewer than £200. Mainly because, i use a laptop so much to participate in my new music i was not heading to switch the cambridge but use the cd tray in the laptop.

Very operative in the conversion electronic recording to analog sign, dynamic, with a large amount of depth. Develop a fantastic music scene. The transportation system could be superior, but finally the musical outcome is best, large value well earlier mentioned its selling price.

  • While most CD players are designed purely for CD playback, the award winning 8200CD has been created with flexibility firmly in mind

Really happy with this player. It will come at a expense of study course but it certainly produces the kind of sound i am soon after. My old wharfdale dovedale 3 speakers might be discovering it a bit overpowering on the foundation side and just one working day i may perhaps have to find other speakers but for the instant they are very good enough.

I lately obtained this great player totally on spec–all the hello-fi magazines raved about it so i trustworthy their phrase and the tips of a several salesmen in hi-fi retailers. Of course i experienced to audition a single but it was hooked up to a prime notch amp and speakers in an acoustically created home so it was bound to sound remarkable. What would it seem like related to my existing equipment–( marantz ki signature amp and mordaunt small ms20i speakers. ) i made a decision it was worthy of having a likelihood so i took the plunge with fingers crossed. In a natural way i then endured a scenario of the last moment up grade jitters–is it likely to be that a lot greater to justify the charge?. My former cd player was a sony xb 920e which i have constantly rated as a rather bloody nifty sounding piece of tools but the audiolab quite speedily exceeded all my anticipations. In just a minute of enjoying a cautiously preferred album i was absolutely convinced that i experienced put in my funds very well. Every thing is greatly improved–vocals are so a lot more subtle, plenty a lot more element will come through, the soundstage has better seperation, and total the audio manages to be punchier as perfectly as smoother. The near miked vocals on the cranberries’ ”no need to have to argue” and pink floyds’ ”the final cut” are absolutely nothing limited of spooky.

Very satisfied with this player. It comes at a cost of course but it certainly produces the sort of sound i’m after. My old wharfdale dovedale 3 speakers may be finding it a bit overpowering on the base side and one day i may have to find other speakers but for the moment they’re good enough.

I recently purchased this wonderful player totally on spec–all the hi-fi magazines raved about it so i trusted their word and the recommendations of a few salesmen in hi-fi shops. Of course i had to audition one but it was hooked up to a top notch amp and speakers in an acoustically designed room so it was bound to sound impressive. What would it sound like connected to my current gear–( marantz ki signature amp and mordaunt short ms20i speakers. ) i decided it was worth taking a chance so i took the plunge with fingers crossed. Naturally i then suffered a case of the last minute upgrade jitters–is it going to be that much better to justify the cost?. Fantastic for the money – or even at twice the price. Lots of hype about every bit of kit some of it almost mystical so lets keep it straight and simple. I have arc system with cd3 mk2 cd player. Replacing with the audiolab gave a sharper sound and consequently a more airy presentation. The upshot is that i could live with the audiolab in my system quite easily as i like that open sound. Ultimately the cd3 is more mellow as you might expect. The audiolab is for a second system but i have half thought of replacing the cd3 with another audiolab. Probably won’t but for a £800 cd to rival a £5000 cd has to say something about the design. Connected to the lesser system you don’t get as much from the player. It clearly is better than the other audiolab gear, all of which is very good.
