    Excellent product spoiled by annoying start-up process. Paired up with my 50″ panasonic plasma, this system looks and sounds great, but is spoiled by a long-winded process of going through different menus to watch tv, movies, play games or listen to ipod via the slide-out dock/drawer. Compared to the non blue ray samsung which i had before, it’s much better overall, but i would have the samsung back just for the speed, ease of use and intuitive menu system. Is it too much to ask of a system to recognise a device that is plugged into it, when that device is turned on?another thing, the ipod dock doesn’t stay in place, it slides out and stays a few mm away from the face of the unit. Here’s my rating of the system:design & appeal: 5/5build quality: 3/5visual: 5/5sound: 4/5 (great sound but bass does distort subwoofer with explosions – with volume at less than 75%)user friendliness: 2/5overall: 4/5i love panasonic, but i’m not sure i can recommend this product. I want to, but the menu system is just too annoying and time consuming. ********** ********** update – january 2015 ********** **********from aug/sep 2014 my tv has started to flicker when receiving signal from this unit. January 2015 and watching a dvd or playing xbox one and ps4 through it is impossible. So now i am on the search for a new system. Will be upgrading my tv to a sony bravia kdl 65×9005 (65″ 4k), so likely to get a sony surround unit.

    Still one of the best in the market. Very easy to set up, excellent picture quality + excellent sound quality. Really for this price this is the best 5. 1 home cinema system you can get today,i will highly recommend it to any one.

      This blue ray home cinema system is pretty good for under £500. I have it hooked up to a benq hd ready projector and the picture quality is sharp, full of life and great blacks. The sound isn’t bad, especially the left/right separation. The centre speaker sounds somewhat artificial. I suggest to invest in a decent universal control. But my main bug bear is the speaker cable. Thin, cheap and with dedicated connectors to plug into the be player. So you have no option to upgrade to a better speaker cable with the right length. And no love film app for streaming.

    Panasonic sc-btt370 sound system with blu-ray player. I bought this to replace my older sound sysytem. It works well and was quite easy to set up. With the help of “genuine copies” i have got it to be region free and it does play all my forign dvd’s. The special offer dvd of star wars was delivered after sending in the form provided. With only myself in the house, i was able to turn it up so i could feel every word, well powerful. The definition of the blu-ray dvd is really good. Just to clarify the delay thing a bit. This delay is actually in the tv.

      Excellent product, great sound quality. This is an excellent product. The speakers feel strong and durable, not fragile and plasticy. Its very easy to set up and comes with a good ammount of cabling per speaker. The sound quality is fantastic, great bass and the sound quality remains even at high volume. It integrates easily with iphone and ipod and is very simple to operate. Very pleased with the purchase, good value for money.

        Nice and neat – a necessity. Great item – very neat and tidy and integrtes well with the panasonic viera (50″ gt30) tv that i have recently purchased. I would say that the sound quality is good rather than excellent, but i found that the tv sound was really poor without such a set-up so had to buy it. As a down-side, i am experiencing a delay when the amp is on between lips moving and the sound coming out. This seems to be a problem on some of the hd terrestrial freeview channels – not really noticed it on freesat. Unfortunately, the delay settings on the amp only seem to make things worse so i’ve just left it on auto and when things get annoyingly out of sync i just switch from freesat to freeview. Not convinced that it’s a fault of the tv of amp – probably just a transmission issue on some channels?the unit connects to the tv using a single hdmi unit (plugged into the arc enabled socket on the tv) which is neat and tidy and means that the tv sound is automatically muted and the tv remote then controls the volume level on the amp. It also switches on/off together with the tv. This is exactly what i wanted as i can’t stand having lots of unnecessary remotes. The only thing to watch for is the hdmi cable you use.

    Compact, good looking speakers and sleek, slim receiver box. The sound is great – very clear, with good depth. The subwoofer can really put out some vibrations.Watching movies has been a pleasure; a cinema experience. For the price, you cannot go wrong.

      Excellent, but not perfect. . If this review was simply for the sound quality, it would be 5 stars and a perfect review. However there are a couple of small drawbacks not related to performance. Firstly, the rear speaker cable isn’t as long as previous home cinema systems i have had, and for anyone with a long lounge/cinema room it might prove inconvenient (i had to take a short cut under the carpet to get the full surround sound experience). Also whenever you turn on the system, it reverts back to its home screen (where you select the input, video, audio, ipod, radio etc) every time. You would expect it to just remember whatever input was selected when it was turned off but every time you turn it on you have to go through several selection screens just to hear the tv. Also the display on the front isn’t bright at all and i cannot make out what it says (although this isn’t really important). Furthermore, the internet feature isn’t too good – the internal wireless adaptor doesn’t appear to work as it doesn’t pick up my signal despite every other wireless product in my house being fine, and when i hooked it up by ethernet to sample what it has to offer, it was all obscure content, most of which were foreign so i don’t use the online features and use my samsung tvs internet content instead. Most importantly, the set up, performance and sound quality of the system is fantastic though, even at lower volumes and fully deserves the awards it has got. The addition of ipod dock is very helpful and music sound quality is excellent, and all menus are clear and easy to understand (albeit there are too many of them, see above) if it wasn’t for the (arguably minor) drawbacks above i would give this 5 stars.

    As the title says, it’s an ok system but not great. I wish i’d bought a better quality sound system and a separate bluray player. The sound fills the room but the separation between front and rear is not as defined as i’ve had in previous models.

    Neat system for getting blu ray and better sound. We came to this system to get a blu ray player and clearer sound than from the panel tv. Since two of our boxes require scart inputs and the tv’s input switching has discrete commands (from harmony remote) instead of a long loop of inputs for the btt370, we continue to rely on the tv as the ‘hub’, so sc-btt270 may have been better value for us. Without some sort of separate speakers our tv’s sound was poor and a sound bar gave a decent improvement, while this system was supposed to provide the potential for ‘5. In practice a useful variety of sound modes are easily accessed, and blu ray discs with 5. 1 sound and older dvds are both played to great effect. The manual was rather baffling but i gathered at first that it is only the occasional hd broadcast which carries 5. 1 sound and this cannot be transmitted by hdmi. For that reason we tried joining an optical lead from the foxsat hdr with the optical lead from the hdtv with a reversed passive optical splitter, hoping this might serve to connect both hd components directly, as long as they were operated one at a time. Although this may work with some setups, it gave intermittent sound from the foxsat. Elsewhere i found that ‘dolby digital’ comes in various flavours and 2. And can be transmitted by hdmi and passed through the tv, as long as pcm is not settherefore the tv is connected to btt370’s optical input, which certainly gives more interesting sound from the tv itself, as well as from the components connected to it by hdmi. The favourite setting displays ‘manual’ on the btt370’s front panel, alternating with “dolby pro logic ii movie”. This works especially well with programmes marked ‘dolby’ in top r of the tv screen and with films it gives dramatic cinema-type ‘surround-type’ sound from all the speakers, with booming from the subwoofer – in fact just what was requiredharmony universal remotes and viera link are incompatible so viera had to be turned off, and when sc-btt370 starts it is set to ‘home’ which effectively mutes it. There are no dedicated input buttons or discrete commands for btt but the harmony is set to send an ‘inputnext’ command following the required delay upon starting up, which then escapes from ‘home’ to the input last used.

    This is a quality piece of kit. Took me 15 minutes to rig it up, it’s easy. All colour coded you can’t go wrong. The sound is not what i’d call amazing but i haven’t really had time to tweak it yet. All the speakers are adjustable for volume and delay etc. So you can get it just right. Well worth the money i would say.

      I looked far & wide for a all in one blu-ray home cinema system, after checking out the spec of many and testing instore etc. It is amazing to say the least.10/10 if you dare turn it up its like being in an actual cinema. Remember though the key is to ensure you set up correctly positioning and sound levels etc.
