    I ordered the version that says it’s for 42″ – 50″ screens , http://www. Uk/dp/b002mz067i/ref=pe_385721_37986871_te_itemthis is what the description says “discreet, stylish left and right speakers situated either side of your tv – which adjust to fit any 42″ – 50″ screen”. So i was surprised to receive the one says “one size fits all 30″ to 42″ screens”. I do have a 42″ tv, and there was no difference in price between the two versions on amazon, so it wasn’t the disaster it could have been. According to the set up manual that came with this one the 42″ – 50″ version has the model number q-tv2x, a search on amazon finds one available for £290, which has an illustration showing the speaker arms pulled out quite a bit further than the one i’ve got will go. Apart from that there doesn’t seem to be any other difference justifying the extra £140 price. I bought this in order to improve the tv sound, and it does.

      Convenient and good speakers. These speakers are very easy to fit and look good in place. They sound quite good (better than the standatd tv speakers) but the mid range is lacking. The bass can be adjusted by a switch and suits the placement fine. So, 4 stars not 5 but still good.

    Unobtrusive and well made. . A nicely designed product that’s well made and easily fitted. The fixing kit is comprehensive and the whole unit is subtle and hidden from view. The sound produced is far superior to that of the average flat screen tv, however, don’t expect the power to blow out the windows. Overall, its excellent value for money and i would recommend the product.

      I have used one of these for about 3 years now. I think it’s a superb bit of kit. Pretty unobtrusive, great sound, easy to attach and easy to use. The only thing you have to watch (i have a panasonic tv) is the level of the headphone volume within the tv settings. If it’s set low then you cannot get the volume out of the acoustics q. Once the tv headphone volume has been set it never needs adjusting again as you use the acoustics remote. You have to point the acoustics remote at the left speaker. Considering the price and performance i recommend this product if you don’t want the unsightlyness of a wired sound system or the bulk of a sound bar.

    What a transformation from the normal tv sound. Fitting was bit of a fiddle as the unit is quite heavy to mavouvre into position. Once there and set up the sound is superb, great bass and the mid and high tones clear and un muddy.

      Sounds so much better than the built in tv speakers, much deeper bass, much clearer treble. Very easy to install, and very neat & tidy. 1 system with this, & can honestly say the sound is superior, despite this only being 2. There are 3 settings that adjust the bass, but none that adjust the treble, which is an issue because sometimes the quite bright & harsh treble becomes tiring & annoying. I like clear treble, but this is often too much. Secondly, the remote control is rubbish, it has to be pointed right at the left speaker to work, new batteries made no difference. If i had the speakers angled out wards, the remote would simply not work. I find this very annoying, as depending whee i am sat in my lounge, i sometimes have to get up to point the remote at the correct place to adjust the volume, which defeats the point of having a remote control.

    Ok – for a third of the price. Bought this as an upgrade to the sound on my 40″ bravia. To be honest, i managed to snap up a used one from the online auction site you are all familiar with. Here’s a few points to note:* installation was easy enough, the position of the bravia’s connections panel at the rear of the tv meant i had to use the supplied spacers, but that’s no problem. * it’s tidy – i have my tv on a table and there’s no room for free standing speakers either side, nor the space for a soundbar underneath. * on the downside the sound quality is not exactly blowing me away. Although there is an improvement in bass, it lacks a deep rumble which is a little disappointing when watching films – although i’m sure my neighbours are happy about this* the flip side to the last point is that it is definitely much clearer vocally. I’m watching homeland as i write this, which i’ve always found to be a mumble-fest, but it’s clear as a bell todayin summary, if you are looking for an amazing audio experience then this is not for you. But if you’re after a bit more clarity from your tv and something that won’t upset the neighbours then this is worth considering.

      This q-tvs was delivered in good time and all as described. It comes with a very good kit of screws and spacers,to fit various makes of tv`s. With the panasonic 32″ e5, i used both spacers and long m6 screws (allen key provided)and would suggest that you plug in the speaker connection before fitting. As i found the space to tight to fit the toslink cable into the connection,with speaker in place. I also found that the speaker switch should be left in normal not source,as i could not control the sound otherwise with the supplied remote. The install took about 1/2 an hour,with clever thought out designs, including a push-in plastic pin to hold speaker in place on the top clip,just in case it vibrates loose. On firing up the speakers, you get a great impression of depth of sound and good clarity of speech. With a simple volume and mute hand controller,that fits easily in the hand. What more could you ask?this was a used purchase, but as far i am concerned,in could have been new for the condition it was in.

        Great alternative to 5. 1 surround but has a flaw. I have a samsung 32inch and the speakers and sound are poor. I decided on this product as i didn’t fancy taking up my wooden floor and dealing with the cables of a 5. As a product it is well made, fits beautifully and easily. The sound improved dramatically when compared to the tv speakers. To give an example, i watch programmes via sky hd at level 12 on the samsung. With the q-tv2 this goes down to 4-6. My main gripe is the delay or lip synch. I always feel this is out by a fraction but then again my wife and friends barely notice so maybe this is just me.

    I bought this after becoming increasingly unhappy with the tinny sound on my new thin led tv. I did not want to be cluttered with cables and speakers around the room and on spotting this device it seemed to be the answer. I have had it now for about 6 months and am extremely pleased. It only misses out on 5 stars because of the need to use a dedicated remote ( supplied) rather than being able to control by the tv remote. ( i bought a decent digital cable rather than use the headphone output which to my ear provided a slightly improved sound)the unit is very discrete and is very well made. I found the fitting to be very straightforward, but best done with the help of an assistant purely because once the unit is on the back of the tv the whole unit is quite heavy. The fitting kit is very comprehensive and there is a decent amount of adjustment. Do look out for ensuring access to all the inputs when making the adjustments. If you are looking for big booming bass this is not for you. The sound given is very natural and a huge leap over the tv sound. There is a whole range of sound particularly at the bottom end that was simply lost in the tv that is now revealed. Films are much more engaging and music improved beyond measure. The volume is more than adequate for sensible home use and with the tv settings displays a great deal of variation eg sports and music etc.

        Good but with the odd niggle. Because my hearing is not so good these days i was finding it difficult to cope with the poor sound output from the tv, particularly speech. After looking around at various systems we decided on the q-tv2, primarily because it is unobtrusive. Fitting was very simple and took 15 minutes. As the tv’s headphone output does not mute the internal tv speakers i have the tv connected to the q-tv2 via an optical cable. As several other reviewers have mentioned this meant i coudn’t control the sound level using the tv remote, which i found annoying. After several days i realised that the answer was, literally, sat on the coffee table in front of merather than using individual remotes to control the tv, sky box and dvd player i normally use a universal “all in one” remote. A couple of minutes programming the univeral remote now means i can use it to control the q-tv2’s volume and mute function. Very simple to do – indeed it took me longer to remember where i had put the remote’s programming instructions than it did to carry out the programming. The only downside to the product is that i would have liked a greater ability to control the tone settings.

    I purchased a q acoustics q tv2 two years ago for my samsung 40″ lcd tv,and it was wired up to my headphone socket which gave an excellent upgrade to the sound,however i changed my tv to a samsung 46″led and found that if i used the headphone socket there was too much sound interference. So i had to purchase a digital audio cable and this was fine.

      Connected up to a sony 40 inch tv. Great improvement compared with the tv speaker system. Very easy to set up,took about 20 minutes. Wish i had bought this prodoct sooner.

        This system does everything i hoped it would be. The sound is clearer on all programmes and as i am hard of hearing it has improved my enjoyment when watching television as well as being able to turn the sound down by at least 50%. It was very easy to fit, took me about 20mins. The service provided by amazons german supplier was faultless(verma gmbh).

    The q-tv2 is an excellent product which does everything it says on the box. It solves the problem of poor quality sound that the tv manufacturers achieve with widescreen sets, where the sound is forced through minute pinholes in the narrow strips of plastic down each side of the screen. The only reservation i have is that it would have been nice to have some form of tone control to adjust the sound for different programmes. The only alternative is a full surround sound home cinema system, but if you do not want your room festooned with cables everywhere this is a very neat solution.
