Smart Guidance in Buying Sony HT-GT1 Soundbar

Really great, but one slight issue. Five-stars for performance and value for money. I still have to buy a cable to connect it to my 6-year old dell pc but it works brilliantly with my ipods. My only small issue would be the visual impact. I’m 68 but even to my eyes, it does appear slightly ‘dated’ but then again, i have nowhere to ‘hide’ the sub-woofer so have had to mount the normal sound-bar on top of the bass unit and place the assembly in a highly visible place in my lounge. Don’t let that put you off as i have a small lounge and i’m sure most people would be able to put the sub-woofer somewhere convenient. I’m a devout fan of trance and what some might term, heavy trance. Plenty of treble and base and this unit really is the business for excellent sound reproduction across the entire spectrum, certainly in the £200 price bracket. I was fortunate enough to pick it up on an amazon ‘deal of the day’, so paid considerably less. Having said that, i’d be just as happy with this if i’d paid the full price.

Excellent sound – will recommend. . I got one of these during a sale offer and i am glad that i got one. Brilliant sound, great bass and is loud. I have a 4 year old samsung lcd tv and a sky box. The speaker is connected to tv through optical cable. I have chosen external speaker in sound settings in tv. I was able to program my sky remote to use it with the soundbar, so i don’t use speaker remote much. Fm is useful but not sure how many will listen ton fm while sitting in front of a tv.

Great sound input and easy to use. One of the strangest things i’ve seen in a while. Purchased as a cheap set to use with a media centre. Great sound input and easy to use. The blue led certainly adds an interesting effect.

Although it won’t beat a good stereo speaker set up this bar produces great sound. Although it won’t beat a good stereo speaker set up this bar produces great sound. Huge bass if you want it, lots of ability to tweak your sound just how you want it.

I purchased this sound bar for my bedroom to match up with my sony tv. I purchased the item through amazon’s warehouse deals. I have purchased a few items through amazon warehouse deals now and have been pleasantly surprised up to now every time. In this particular case i managed to save around £100 off the selling price at amazon direct at the time, and yet still received an item that arrived to me in mint condition, as new with none of the damage that i was warned on the description that the item may be subject to. Remote etc were actually still packaged as new and appeared to be unopened. The sound bar itself is massive. The bar is much fatter and taller than the other offerings i have seen and actually features 6 speakers across the front of it. The sub woofer is again a beast of a box for a sound bar and a nice touch is that it is actually made of wood to improve acoustics. The bar can go very, very loud as described, but, unfortunately this does not seem to be the case when using the desired optical / toslink cable, which is the best connection it offers as a digital signal from the television.

Ht-gt1this sound bar and subwoofer set, is one of my favourite amazon purchases, will write from my experiences. I purchased this in the amazon christmas deals for around £110, normal price being around £180 on amazonthis set does everything i could possibly want as a 19 year old, and i am very attentive to my music gear. Setupsimple – power lead, and 2 plugs (left and right sound signal, of course colour coded plugs and sockets), a digital cable and a little radio antennayou won’t be able to plug anything into the wrong socket, you couldn’t get it wrong if you triedperformanceif you think 260w isn’t much. You would honestly be amazed. I could hear my music from the other end of the street on 45/50 volume. Bass can be adjusted to ‘lo’, ‘mid’ and ‘high’ and there is a ‘bass bazuka’ button which is epic for movies. It has many sound settings to adjust the response, and comes with a handy remote, so i don’t even have to get up to do any of this. Features- bluetoothnot sure what version of bluetooth it is but it does the job, and will connect to my iphone, ipad and macbook, and also connects to any other mp3 device with bluetooth, to play music.

Great sounding system, if 5. 1 isn’t a must i would absolutely recommend it. Excellent value for money. . Don’t be put off by the lightsokay, they do seem a bit “chavvy” for lack of a better word, but this is a great sound system. It’s nice and loud, and it sounds much better than other soundbars. I think it’s because it’s not as slim, and small like others. The sound quality is great and bass bazuka seems like a gimmick but actually, it’s great. Useful if you’re watching an action film, or listening to edm, drum and bass or other genres of music which are bass heavy. The software is pretty good too, with my phone i tapped it to the nfc icon and it connects within a few seconds. No messing with bluetooth pairing but now you can connect multiple (sony) bluetooth speakers with the app and create an even loud sound. Everything sounds better through this though, we have it on by default for all content via the tv (optical cable), even speech on tv shows, just sounds better. I would absolutely recommend this. It is big though, and the optical cable is short so i’d order one with this. 1 surround isn’t a necessity it’s absolutely worth buying.

Superb sound quality – brings the tv alive. Superb sound quality – brings our new tv alivetwo minor issues which would make the sound bar perfect – not having the sound bar and bass box wired together (means i can’t move it out of sight when in use), and the blue light won’t stop flashing when on standby, so i have to turn it off at the wall. The issues aren’t big enough (for me anyway – the wife might disagree on the first issue though, would prefer the box hiding out of sight) to reduce the 5* rating though. Compared to other sound bars on the market, this was by far the best valued one – i managed to pick it up on a black friday deal in november 2014 for £189 (was around £300 before that).

Louder and better than i expected. Louder and better than i expected. 260w is a bit optomistic but good quality sound and is grand for watching movies and playing games, just need to get the huge telly.

This is great to listen to music through or as an upgrade to the sound on a plasma/led/lcd panel.

Spent hours trawling through endless sites for the complete sound bar. It’s big, it’s loud, it’s good looking and it’s sony, what else can you say. So pleased i bought another the next day, chained ’em together, wow.
